Day 01 Tiahuanaco & Aramu Muru Tour Full - Puno to Bolivia

Step 1: Inca Uyo Temple and the Red Rocks of Aramu Muru: We depart from your hotel in Puno at 06:30 AM, driving south alongside the lake. Our first short stop is in Chucuito to explore Inca Uyo, an ancestral temple famous for its curious carved stones. We then continue to the spectacular jagged red stone formations of Hayu Marca to stand before the Aramu Muru Portal. You will learn about the legends of the golden disc and have time to connect with the mystical energy of this colossal rock-carved doorway.
Step 2: Border Crossing at Desaguadero: Following our morning exploration, we drive directly to the Desaguadero border town. Your guide will seamlessly assist you through the migration offices for both Peru and Bolivia. After completing the customs and passport checks, we board our secondary transport or continue on our route directly into the Bolivian Altiplano.
Step 3: Exploration of the Great Tiwanaku Archaeological Site: We arrive at the pre-Inca capital of Tiahuanaco just in time for a traditional regional lunch. Afterward, our expert archaeological guide will take you inside the ancient complex. You will discover the legendary Sun Gate (Puerta del Sol), walk up the Akapana Pyramid, see the Kalasasaya temple, and stand in front of the mysterious underground temple adorned with hundreds of unique stone faces. We will also visit the on-site museum to see well-preserved monolithic structures.
Step 4: Return Journey to Puno: At around 04:30 PM, we begin our drive back to the Desaguadero border crossing. After clearing international customs back into Peru, we make our final direct drive along the highway, arriving back at your hotel in Puno at approximately 07:30 PM.
