Colca Canyon Full Day Tour: Condor Sightseeing – Arequipa

Step 1: Ultra-Early Departure and Breakfast in Chivay: Our journey begins at 03:00 AM with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa. We embark on a direct, nighttime drive through the mountains toward the Colca Valley to maximize our sightseeing day. After roughly three hours, we arrive in the town of Chivay to enjoy an included traditional breakfast and recharge our energy.

Step 2: The Flight of the Condor at Cruz del Cóndor: Following breakfast, we drive immediately along the canyon’s edge to the famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. Arriving at the ideal morning hour, you will stand before one of the world's deepest gorges and witness the incredible flight of the magnificent Andean Condor as they glide just meters away from visitors on rising thermal winds.

Step 3: Cultural Villages and Maca Viewpoints: On our way back toward Chivay, we make short stops at traditional colonial towns like Maca and Pinchollo. You will observe the unique local outfits worn by the inhabitants and marvel at the expansive, beautifully preserved pre-Inca agricultural terraces carving the mountainsides.

Step 4: Hot Springs Relaxation, Lunch, and Volcano Pass: Before lunch, we visit the thermal baths near Chivay to relax in volcanic, healing mineral waters. After an optional lunch buffet, we begin our return drive to Arequipa. On the road back, we stop at Patapampa Pass ($4,910\text{ meters}$) to view massive active volcanoes and traverse the Pampa Cañahuas reserve to see wild vicuñas and alpacas. We arrive back in downtown Arequipa around 05:30 PM.
